Foreshortening - A rule of perspective where objects appear to come forward or recede into depth
Sculpture - A 3D work of art.
Shading - Using value to create a 3D illusion.
Highlight - The point where light reflects off a surface most intensely.
Value - The lightness or darkness of a color.
2D - Two dimensional, having only height and width.
3D - Three dimensional, having height, width and depth.
Receding parallel lines - Receding parallel lines are lines parallel (run in the same direction) to each other that gradually move away from the viewer.
Diminishing size - Things look smaller as they recede, or move farther away from the viewer.
Horizontal lines - Lines that move left to right.
Vertical lines - Lines that move straight up and down.
Gradient - When values fade from dark to light or light to dark.
Convex surface - A surface that is bulging or rounded outward
Texture - The way something feels.
Tactile - Able to perceive by touch
Implied texture (simulated texture) - Creating something that LOOKS like it feels a certain way.
Matte - Dull or non-reflective.
Glossy - Shiny or reflective
